Timeline
Roadmap
The project's milestones, from foundation through to the announced goals of decentralisation. Source for this timeline: the Bitcoin Hyper whitepaper — version used: 4 January 2026. The future phases are presented as announced objectives, not as confirmed outcomes.
Methodological note: Milestones marked ✓ are presented as achieved in the project's documentation; this does not necessarily amount to independent confirmation. Milestones marked ○ correspond to announced objectives or timelines. The original Mainnet timeline has already been revised. As of 10 August 2026 the presale is still presented as active on the official website, while the Devnet is the subject of public updates; the public testnet, mainnet and listing phases are therefore still presented as objectives whose verification remains ongoing.
Foundation
Launch of the official website, brand identity, whitepaper v1, formation of the core team and community building on X, Telegram and Discord
Presale & staking
The $HYPER token is offered through a phased public presale. As of 10 August 2026 the presale is still shown as active on the official website. According to the project, staking is available. Security audits of the token contract have been published; these must be distinguished from audits of the Layer 2 protocol and of the bridge.
Devnet presented as operational
According to the documentation and updates published by the project, SVM programs run natively on the Devnet, including an explorer and testing that covers, in particular, SPL tokens and multi-signature configurations.
Security audits
Security audits of the token contract are public. They are not full audits of the Layer 2 protocol or of the Canonical Bridge. As of 10 August 2026, the monitoring carried out for this site had identified no complete public report covering the bridge, the sequencer and the Layer 2 protocol as a whole.
Canonical Bridge in the testing phase
According to the project's documentation, the BTC↔Hyper Canonical Bridge is in the testing phase on the Devnet, while the forced-exit function (guaranteed exit) is still in development. The stated objective is further development towards a bridge that is progressively less trust-dependent and less reliant on centralised custody.
Public testnet
The announced opening of the testnet to developers and the community, as a phase ahead of mainnet. In the timeline used, this objective was placed before the Q3 2026 window; as of 10 August 2026 there is no verifiable public documentation confirming that it has been met.
Mainnet launch
According to the roadmap used, the project intends to bring up the Bitcoin Hyper Layer 2 network, activate the canonical BTC bridge, complete the SVM environment and integrate the first dApps and smart contracts. Q3 2026 is an announced target here: the actual launch must be confirmed by verifiable public evidence.
Listings and ecosystem expansion
The announced listings of $HYPER on DEX and CEX platforms, the release of developer tooling — SDK and API — and the gradual onboarding of DeFi, gaming and NFT projects. In the documentation used, the listing price of USD 0.013681 is given as a figure stated by the project, not as a confirmed market price.
DAO & decentralisation
The announced launch of the Bitcoin Hyper DAO for community governance, with incentives for node operators and developers. According to the roadmap, sequencer decentralisation is envisaged for the period 2–4 years after mainnet launch.
Critical dependencies: In assessing mainnet readiness, particular attention should be paid to the following: (1) full audits of the protocol and the bridge, (2) stabilisation of the canonical bridge and forced-exit mechanisms, (3) a data-availability solution, and (4) the final tokenomics parameters. These elements represent essential dependencies that must be verified before the mainnet can be considered operational.
